When Does March Madness Start in 2017?

A common question asked by men’s college basketball fans throughout the year is when does March Madness start? In 2017, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament bracket matchups are scheduled to be announced on March 12th during the Selection Sunday broadcast. The popular TV show was recently expanded to a two hour event that will take place between 5:30-7:30 PM (ET), with finalized, printable NCAA Tournament brackets available soon after. The First Four, or “Play-in” games will kick off on Tuesday, March 14th, and the first round of the tournament (recently rebranded from the second round) will kick off with the 64 teams left standing on Thursday, March 16th just after noon eastern Time. The 2017 NCAA Men’s Championship Game is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 4th, 2017.
