The printable 2016-17 college football playoff bracket is available for fans to download, print, repost, and share as you deem fit. The positioning for one of the four coveted spots in the football playoff begins before the regular season even starts. The 2016-17 CFP (college football playoff) will be the third iteration of the new postseason format for determining the overall champion for the FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision). For this year’s playoffs, the semifinal games will take place on New Year’s Eve, and the National Championship game will take place on Monday, January 9th, several weeks before the 2017 NFL Super Bowl. Although defending national champion, Alabama, is heavily favored, there are a number of teams like Clemson, Ohio State, and Michigan who look to vie for National Championships. No matter what, it definitely poses to be an exciting season in college football. ESPN holds the contract for the on-air and live stream for all three games that are played in the CFP.

What Locations are the Semifinal Games Played?

The College Football Playoff currently rotates the semifinal games between the six major bowl games under the previous BCS system for determining the college football national champion. These bowls are known as the “New Year’s Six” and include: the Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Peach, and Fiesta Bowls.

Who Determines the Four Teams who earn a Spot in the College Football Playoff?

A 13 member selection committee works together to pick and seed the top four teams in college football to play in the tournament. Teams who earn a spot in the CFP, do not pay in contractually awarded bowl games like the Rose Bowl, Orange, and Sugar Bowl. In each case, if a team from the Pac-12, Big Ten, Notre Dame, Big 12, or SEC earn a spot in the playoffs, then the next highest ranked team from the conference will play in that respective bowl game in the 2016-17 College Football Bowl game schedule.
