2016 Rio Olympics Shooting Schedule

The 2016 Rio Olympics shooting schedule will take place in Rio de Janeiro from 6 to 14 August 2016 at the National Shooting Center located in Deodoro. There will be up to 390 Olympic athletes taking part across 15 shooting events during the 2016 Games. The format will be similar to the 2012 Olympics with some changes to the overall rules and guidelines in place for Rio. The International Shooting Sports Federation instituted these rules in late 2012 to the competition format in order to make the events more appealing to spectators, young people, and the media. The largest change is that during the finals, all competitors start from scratch with their scores, and the finals also have an elimination stage now that will culminate in a two person duel for the gold medal. Some of the other major changes include using the decimal system for scoring and limiting the use of performance enhancing rifle clothing and other equipment by competitors. We also have the day-by-day Olympic schedule for you to check out for the other events taking place during the 2016 Olympics, specific event schedules, and a printable Rio Olympics schedule to use to help you follow the action. All times listed are in local Brazil time.
