The 2016 college football preseason poll by coaches (sponsored by Amway) is released. The poll precedes the upcoming AP preseason poll by approximately two weeks, and unsurprisingly has defending national champions, Alabama ranked at #1 followed by Clemson at #2. This is the third time Alabama has come in as the preseason favorite after winning four national titles in the past seven years. The Crimson Tide received 55 first place votes from the 64 FBS head coaches who participated in the poll. This marks the highest preseason ranking by Clemson via the coaches by six spots. The tigers had a total of seven first place votes in the poll. The college football playoff strategery can now begin!
