The 2013 NFL Draft was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City between April 25th and April 27th, 2013. This was the 78th annual draft held by NFL franchises to select football players who are newly eligible to participate in the league during the coming season. The Kansas City Chiefs selected offensive lineman, Eric Fisher, with the first overall pick of the draft. He was the fourth player in this position to be selected with the first pick of the draft since the first NFL Common draft was held in 1967. Florida State would lead the way for all colleges with the most number of players taken in the draft at 11 total. The following is an overview of the 2013 NFL draft and the draft results for the first two rounds of the draft.
International Football Players Taken in the Draft
A new record was set by the NFL in 2013 with there being a total of 11 players selected that were not from the United States. This set a new high for the league and which also saw its first draft where there was not a running back selected in the opening round for the first time ever. Additionally, there were a total of nine offensive linemen chosen in the first round which tied the record for “most ever” originally set in the 1968 NFL draft.
