2013 MLB Draft Results

The 2013 MLB Draft for first-year players took place between June 6-8, 2013 and was broadcast via Studio 42 (MLB Network) in Secaucus, New Jersey during the opening two rounds. During the draft, each team received a single selection per round going in the reverse order of the 2012 MLB final standings. If a team made a qualifying offer to a free agent from their team who subsequently signed with another team, the “losing” team may have received a compensatory pick during the draft. The 2013 MLB Draft results for the opening round of picks (and associated other early action of the draft) is included below.

2013 MLB Draft Order

During the 2013 MLB draft, the Atlanta Braves, LA Angels of Anaheim, Milwaukee Brewers, and Washington Nationals all lost their first round pics by signing players from other teams who rejected qualifying offers from the previous clubs. The Cleveland Indians had their first round pick protected (since it fell in the top 10 picks), so they lost their second round pick as well as a pick in the “sandwich” round that fell between the second and third rounds of the draft.
